Frequently asked questions

Where is my data stored?

All journal entries, photos, and settings are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync in settings, your data is also stored in your personal iCloud account. We never have access to your data.

Does the AI require an internet connection?

No. DearSelf's AI journal agent runs entirely on your device using Apple's Neural Engine. It works offline — no internet needed.

Can I export my journal entries?

We are working on export functionality. In the meantime, your data is always yours and accessible on your device.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete individual entries within the app. To remove all data, uninstall the app. If you've enabled iCloud sync, you can manage synced data through your device's iCloud settings.
